John Tsang Chun-Wah was the longest-serving Financial Secretary in Hong Kong, SAR. He is currently Chairman of Benefit Vantage Limited, a Hong Kong firm that offers a mobile seamless authentication solution. He is also the Vice Chairman of Ion Pacific, a financial institution that specializes in technology investments. In addition, he is the founder of a non-profit organization called Esperanza.

THE CREATIVE SPACE: Why Creativity Can’t Exist without Failure

Douglas Young founded G.O.D. with his business partner two decades ago with the mission of making Hongkongers proud of their own culture. The brand specializes in fashion, home and lifestyle items that play on uniquely Hong Kong elements. Today, G.O.D. has shops scattered across the city and regularly collaborates with other Hong Kong brands on design and cultural projects.

THE POST-MORTEM: From High-Hopes to Closed-Doors

Gobee Bikes aimed to be the first bike-share company in Hong Kong. They raised US$9 million, but within 18months the business was shuttered. Backed by the likes of Alibaba's Hong Kong Entrepreneurship Fund, no one could have predicted the high-cost of maintenance of over 10,000 machines. Claude is currently CTO at Privé Technologies a FinTech SaaS company with operations in Asia and Europe.

Erika Cheung

THE CAUTIONARY TALE: Key Learnings from the Theranos Scandal

Erika is a medical researcher turned technology and innovation ecosystem builder. She famously worked for Theranos. Along with Tyler Schultz and author John Carreyrou she helped expose one of the largest scandals in Silicon Valley history. She’s currently committed to growing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Hong Kong. Additionally, she is supporting the maturation of Southern China as a leading R&D, innovation and entrepreneurial hub with hopes to also facilitate its collaboration with other worldwide startup hubs.
